Cobble stones made from Italian porphyry were used for hundreds of years as street pavement in French cities and villages. It’s very difficult to make these cobble stones as porphyry is composed of volcanic glass, and slitting it in straight surfaces is very difficult. HSN has made a study of the typical French style streets and now offers a selection in the same colour tone, providing this exceptional material to everybody. The stone is extremely hard, without any porosity and permeability, so it never requires any maintenance, and it has a proven track record of hundred of years as a street pavement. Depending on the conditions, it can be either installed on a stabilized sand surface, or on a concrete base. Joint can be filled either by using split (broken stone) or by grouting.
